Bocian to symbol życia i budzącej się przyrody. Niegdyś na widok bociana ludzie wychodzili z domów i przywoływali je do siebie. Gniazdo bociana oznaczało bowiem szczęście i płodność dla całej rodziny. Gospodynie piekły tzw. "busłowe łapy" – pieczywo w kształcie nóg ptaka. Dla chłopów bocian przepowiadał pogodę i przyszłość. Jeśli przylatywał spóźniony, wieszczył idealne warunki atmosferyczne. Biały bocian kojarzony był z brakiem deszczu, czarny zapowiadał ulewę. Pierwszy zauważony na wiosnę bocian w locie dawał nadzieję na pomyślność na cały rok. Bocian swoim przylotem zapowiadał sezon wiosenny kończący długie miesiące zimy. Ten ptak symbolizuje także narodziny dziecka. Młode niezamężne dziewczyny miały zakaz spoglądania na bociana ze strachu przed zajściem w ciążę.

Trasy polskich bocianów

Ptaki lecąc do Afryki, pokonują nawet 10 tysięcy kilometrów. Podróż zajmuje im do trzech miesięcy. Do Polski najczęściej ruszają w lutym. Powrót bocianów trwa krócej niż trasa do Afryki, bo około sześć tygodni. Rekordziście zajęło to tylko dwa tygodnie. Ptaki spieszą się bowiem, aby jak najszybciej trafić do gniazda. Najczęściej pokonują 500 kilometrów każdego dnia!

Czy bociany dotrą na czas?

Prof. Piotr Tryjanowski, zoolog i badacz bocianów z Katedry Zoologii Uniwersytetu Przyrodniczego w Poznaniu, śledząc ruchy bocianów, prognozuje ich opóźnione przybycie do Polski. Są już sygnały o przylocie pojedynczych osobników, jednak większość z nich jeszcze jest w przysłowiowych powijakach. – Coraz częściej bowiem się zdarza, że bociany zimują w Polsce, są przetrzymywane w azylach dla osłabionych ptaków, a nawet przez gospodarzy na wsiach – wyjaśnia naukowiec.

W jaki sposób ptaki są kontrolowane? – By być pewnym co za ptak zajmuje gniazdo, powinien on być oznakowany czy to tradycyjną obrączką ornitologiczną, czy może jeszcze lepiej, zaopatrzony w nadajnik GPS. W tym drugim przypadku nie musimy ptaka widzieć w gnieździe, bo sygnał o jego obecności dociera poprzez satelity – podkreśla poznański ekspert.

Analiza sygnałów – czy bociany dotrą na czas?

Już teraz wiele osób wodzi oczami po niebie, wypatrując bocianów z niecierpliwością. Jednak wiadomo, że jest znaczące opóźnienie w terminie ich wędrówki. Kilka dni temu pierwszy ptak przeleciał Morze Czerwone i jest w Izraelu, kilka bocianów szykuje się już do przelotu w Egipcie, ale zasadnicza część pozostaje w Sudanie i Czadzie, a nawet jeszcze na północy RPA.

– Akurat miałem okazję przejechać sporą trasę, od Serbii poprzez Węgry, południową Słowację i Czechy aż do Polski. Widziałem dziesiątki bocianich gniazd i wszystkie jeszcze bez właścicieli. Cóż, należy uzbroić się w cierpliwość, ale sądząc po tym jak ptaki zachowują się w Afryce, to będzie to dziwny sezon. Na początku zapewne dotrą pierwsze osobniki, swoistą bocianią forpocztą, a dopiero znacznie później główna fala migrantów. Może się okazać, że bociany nie zdążą dolecieć ani na św. Józefa (19 marca), kiedy to tradycyjnie ich oczekiwano, ani w pierwszy dzień wiosny (21 marca) i zapewne przyjdzie nam poczekać z obserwacjami bocianów aż do Wielkanocy. Gdyby jednak bociany przyspieszyły, nagle zmieniły trasę i szybkość wędrówki, to będziemy Państwa informować, wszak wiemy, że to nasz, jakże polski ptak, i informacje on nim są tak ważne dla wielu z nas – podsumowuje prof. Tryjanowski.

Wspólnie z grupą ornitologiczną SILESIANA pod kierownictwem Joachima Siekiery realizowane są rozmaite projekty badawcze dotyczące wędrówek bocianów. Już ponad 120 ptaków zostało zaopatrzonych w nadajniki i stąd dobrze wiadomo co się z nimi dzieje.

Bocian to symbol życia i budzącej się przyrody. Niegdyś na widok bociana ludzie wychodzili z domów i przywoływali je do siebie. Gniazdo bociana oznaczało bowiem szczęście i płodność dla całej rodziny. Gospodynie piekły tzw. "busłowe łapy" – pieczywo w kształcie nóg ptaka. Dla chłopów bocian przepowiadał pogodę i przyszłość. Jeśli przylatywał spóźniony, wieszczył idealne warunki atmosferyczne. Biały bocian kojarzony był z brakiem deszczu, czarny zapowiadał ulewę. Pierwszy zauważony na wiosnę bocian w locie dawał nadzieję na pomyślność na cały rok. Bocian swoim przylotem zapowiadał sezon wiosenny kończący długie miesiące zimy. Ten ptak symbolizuje także narodziny dziecka. Młode niezamężne dziewczyny miały zakaz spoglądania na bociana ze strachu przed zajściem w ciążę.

Trasy polskich bocianów

Ptaki lecąc do Afryki, pokonują nawet 10 tysięcy kilometrów. Podróż zajmuje im do trzech miesięcy. Do Polski najczęściej ruszają w lutym. Powrót bocianów trwa krócej niż trasa do Afryki, bo około sześć tygodni. Rekordziście zajęło to tylko dwa tygodnie. Ptaki spieszą się bowiem, aby jak najszybciej trafić do gniazda. Najczęściej pokonują 500 kilometrów każdego dnia!

Czy bociany dotrą na czas?

Prof. Piotr Tryjanowski, zoolog i badacz bocianów z Katedry Zoologii Uniwersytetu Przyrodniczego w Poznaniu, śledząc ruchy bocianów, prognozuje ich opóźnione przybycie do Polski. Są już sygnały o przylocie pojedynczych osobników, jednak większość z nich jeszcze jest w przysłowiowych powijakach. – Coraz częściej bowiem się zdarza, że bociany zimują w Polsce, są przetrzymywane w azylach dla osłabionych ptaków, a nawet przez gospodarzy na wsiach – wyjaśnia naukowiec.

W jaki sposób ptaki są kontrolowane? – By być pewnym co za ptak zajmuje gniazdo, powinien on być oznakowany czy to tradycyjną obrączką ornitologiczną, czy może jeszcze lepiej, zaopatrzony w nadajnik GPS. W tym drugim przypadku nie musimy ptaka widzieć w gnieździe, bo sygnał o jego obecności dociera poprzez satelity – podkreśla poznański ekspert.

Analiza sygnałów – czy bociany dotrą na czas?

Już teraz wiele osób wodzi oczami po niebie, wypatrując bocianów z niecierpliwością. Jednak wiadomo, że jest znaczące opóźnienie w terminie ich wędrówki. Kilka dni temu pierwszy ptak przeleciał Morze Czerwone i jest w Izraelu, kilka bocianów szykuje się już do przelotu w Egipcie, ale zasadnicza część pozostaje w Sudanie i Czadzie, a nawet jeszcze na północy RPA.

– Akurat miałem okazję przejechać sporą trasę, od Serbii poprzez Węgry, południową Słowację i Czechy aż do Polski. Widziałem dziesiątki bocianich gniazd i wszystkie jeszcze bez właścicieli. Cóż, należy uzbroić się w cierpliwość, ale sądząc po tym jak ptaki zachowują się w Afryce, to będzie to dziwny sezon. Na początku zapewne dotrą pierwsze osobniki, swoistą bocianią forpocztą, a dopiero znacznie później główna fala migrantów. Może się okazać, że bociany nie zdążą dolecieć ani na św. Józefa (19 marca), kiedy to tradycyjnie ich oczekiwano, ani w pierwszy dzień wiosny (21 marca) i zapewne przyjdzie nam poczekać z obserwacjami bocianów aż do Wielkanocy. Gdyby jednak bociany przyspieszyły, nagle zmieniły trasę i szybkość wędrówki, to będziemy Państwa informować, wszak wiemy, że to nasz, jakże polski ptak, i informacje on nim są tak ważne dla wielu z nas – podsumowuje prof. Tryjanowski.

Wspólnie z grupą ornitologiczną SILESIANA pod kierownictwem Joachima Siekiery realizowane są rozmaite projekty badawcze dotyczące wędrówek bocianów. Już ponad 120 ptaków zostało zaopatrzonych w nadajniki i stąd dobrze wiadomo co się z nimi dzieje.
